We were all pleasantly surprised, and he absolutely loved it! He would even start rushing ahead as soon as he recognized the street. The best part was that the staff sent us updates throughout the day. When we picked him up, they always handed us everything he had made, including calligraphy, paintings, and origami. The concept is just brilliant. We are so grateful and will definitely visit them again the next time we visit Tokyo! Our 3-year-old daughter loved it here so much that she never stopped talking about her time here. We had a 4-hour free time by ourselves without worrying about her because it was a great place and you can definitely feel the warmth. This is just a stone's throw away from JR Harajuku Station, and was easy to spot. We will definitely be back next time we are in Japan! On our last full day in Japan we booked 2 hours with Harajuku Kids Club for our two children. They had a blast! It was such a win-win: the kids were able to take in some cultural experiences while having a break from shopping/sight-seeing, while parents got to have a meal and do some shopping. Aya and her team were so sweet, and they even put together a project portfolio from the activities they completed. We received photos of their activities/games—the photos of them in kimono was the cherry on top! My younger child was sad to leave. Glad we were able to trust in their care while the kids can be engaged at the same time! Harajuku Kids Club is really helpful, especially for parents who simply wish to spend some time shopping and relaxing in Tokyo by themselves. As soon as we arrived, we knew our son was in good hands because Aya and the entire staff were really kind and accommodating. Since our son has a high level of activity, they were very kind and provided him with engaging activities. They keep us informed via WhatsApp, and when we came back to pick him up, we knew our son really had a great time with the other kids. I highly recommend Harajuku Kids Club and we will definitely visit again when we come back to Tokyo. We had a great experience during our family trip to Japan this spring. The director Aya was very warm and inviting and my 2 year old felt comfortable to play the moment she arrived. It's a fully licensed private daycare provider and we got updates throughout the day. This trip was our first major family trip without grandparents, so I thought a drop in daycare would allow my husband and me to have a relaxed trip to a museum and our daughter to just have a full day of play during our trip. Our toddler is a good traveler but touristy things inevitably involve a lot of waiting in lines which is hard for a toddler. Since I can read Japanese I had considered a Japanese drop-in daycare franchise which was cheaper and closer to our hotel, but we chose this one because it looked more fun than a traditional daycare center and lunch could be provided. It is a small operation so it took a bit of time to get a response to the application, but after that everything went smoothly. My daughter liked the idea of dressing up, doing calligraphy, Japanese games and crafts. She also really enjoyed herself there, and we have several cute photos and crafts from her time there. Despite sometimes being a difficult napper, she did manage to have a nap there. She enjoyed it so much we decided to last minute sign up a second time. It was a good chance for her to have a full day of play and for us to have a break from kids focused activities. I would definitely recommend this to tourist families with young children visiting Japan. We had a great experience with Harajuku Kids Club Tokyo. We’re visiting from the U.S. and wanted to give our two-year-old son a more relaxed day during our trip. The team did an awesome job communicating throughout the day, sending pictures and updates so we always knew how he was doing. It really put us at ease. He had a blast and honestly seemed grateful to spend the day in a fun, relaxed environment instead of being dragged around shopping in Harajuku. When we picked him up, the staff gave us a detailed rundown of his day, including what he ate, his nap, and all the activities he participated in. They did arts and crafts, helped him practice Japanese by spelling his name, and made sure he had time to interact and play with the other kids. You could tell they really cared and paid attention to each child. Thank you to Aya and her team for such a pleasant and thoughtful experience! We truly appreciate it. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Tokyo and want your child to have a fun, engaging, and culturally enriching experience. It’s nice break for the child when you’re visiting from abroad. We brought our 7-year-old and 3-year-old here while visiting Tokyo, and honestly, it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. Both kids had an absolute blast and have been asking to go back ever since—which really says everything. It gave us a little break to explore nearby while knowing they were in a safe, engaging environment. The staff were warm, attentive, and clearly experienced with younger children, which made drop-off feel easy even in a new country. The activities kept them fully entertained, and they came out smiling and full of stories. The cutest part by far was the traditional Japanese costume photos they took—those turned out beyond adorable and are such a special keepsake from our trip. It felt like more than just childcare; it was a fun cultural experience for them too. If you’re traveling in Tokyo with kids and want a few hours to yourself while giving them something fun and unique to do, this place is 100% worth it. We’d definitely come back next time. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Harajuku Kids Club while visiting from New York with our two children (ages 4½ and 1). Our kids had an incredible time and happily stayed for a full day (10 AM to 6 PM), which gave us tremendous peace of mind as parents. The teachers and caregivers are truly exceptional—kind, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful with the children. The activities were amazing and so special: calligraphy, cooking, making classic Japanese desserts, origami projects, and even the chance to wear traditional kimonos and hakama. It was such a meaningful cultural experience, and our children were excited every day to participate. Communication throughout the day was outstanding. The team was very easy to reach on WhatsApp, shared frequent updates and photos, and even documented feeding times, which gave us incredible reassurance. 📸 Aya, the owner, is incredibly sweet and welcoming, and you can really feel how much care and intention she has put into creating such a special place for children and families. We truly cannot say enough positive things about this school. Highly recommend Harajuku Kids Club to any families traveling abroad—it was one of the highlights of our trip! I found Harajuku kids club by chance looking up places for my kids to get their wiggles out during the rain while visiting Tokyo. They offered a drop-off daycare so parents can shop and tour kid-free in Harajuku while the kids got to play and learn about Japanese culture. The small center is just a 3-min walk from Harajuku station. It seemed too good to be true! Aya san responded to my website inquiry very quickly and explained the process. You can choose to drop off your kids from 2 hours, 4 hours, or a full day, reservations made at least a day in advance with options for an included meal. I just chose 2 hours, but my kids had so much fun that I could've extended the time. They also accommodated allergies! When we areived we were given emergency procedure and confirmed WhatsApp contact. There were two caregivers including Aya san and they were both kind and welcoming. The facility was very clean and bright. Within an hour we got pictures of activities they participated in, including calligraphy, snacks, arts & crafts, games, and dressing in kimono/yukata. They were always very communicative, even just for the 2 hours. When we picked up our kids, they couldn't stop talking about it! We also got a printed progress report, additional photos, and the crafts they made. It was a relief to have some kid-free time while the kids got some play time and educational activities. We absolutely would trust Harajuku kids club with our kids again! I wish I could give more stars! Look no further, this place is amazing. Staff is so attentive and friendly, the director Aya went above and beyond, she even helped me getting into the taxi with my extra bags. My kids had the best day learning about Japanese culture, making crafts and playing with other kids. They kept me updated with photos and sent them home with reports, activities and a cute folder with the picture of them dressed in kimonos. Great location as well, walking distance from Shibuya busy shopping streets. I’ll definitely bring the kiddos back there I couldn’t recommend this place enough 💕

Aya Sunagawa
Nationally certified childcare staff in Japan
I have two children and have been raising them.
I have worked at an international school for about 8 years, the last time as a school director. When I traveled abroad with my children, I was impressed by the kindness of the local adults toward children, and I felt very comfortable and at ease. Unfortunately, many Japanese people are resistant to children, and I wanted such a Japan to be the same as overseas, which led me to launch “HARAJUKU KIDS CLUB TOKYO”. We believe that it is difficult for foreigners to travel with children in Japan because everywhere you go is crowded, the streets are narrow, and there are few people who can speak English. We hope that we can be of help to you, and we welcome you to “HARAJUKU KIDS CLUB TOKYO”.
